Description

Moon Knight: Black, White, & Blood Issue #1 Variant Cover by Mico Suayan. I am drawn to your classic Pin-Up Type Comic Covers where the character is front & center jumping off the page. Mico's use Red Spray-Paint as an effect for the background makes this piece of art all the more unique. I have now seen him use this paint effect on his back grounds on a few other covers, which really stands out. The red paint is so fitting for a cover titled Black, White, & Blood! I was told Moon Knight's "Flying Kick" pose was homage to the Marc Spector: Moon Knight Issue #1 Cover (Pic Attached). Also, if I recall correctly, Moon Knight is the character that Mico really broke into the industry with, either taking over or filling in for Legend David Finch when Finch was on the Moon Knight series.

OA was published�on a few variant covers, a trade, virgin, and convention color variant across three different retailers. Admittedly, I am a big Mico Suayan fan, as I am drawn to a lot of his art. His textures and rendering is so smooth, and I can honestly say he is one of my favorite Modern Comic Artists. I am sure I will be adding a few more of Mico's originals to my PC before I am said and done.

Number one covers do so much to set the tone of the series and this one by Mico raises expectations for action and stylish noir with dynamic visual impact!
