DescriptionBefore the glut of Star Wars posts floods my gallery in May, how about a little bit of Magik?Illyana battles corruption, pleading with Storm's astral form, torn between dark power and resistance to Belasco's growing influence. Ink and Zipatone (always love Zip!) over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board. Someday I'll need to get a new overlay done for the Storm art in the various panels. This was a bid-and-forget unexpected Heritage Auction win from the Tom Palmer estate. I thought for sure I'd be outbid. But I'm not complaining! With the market and attention most vintage X-title pages receive, I'll be content with this sliding into my portfolio. And the provenance can't be beat. Social/Sharing |

it's ok to cheat on Frenz/Palmer Star Wars once in awhile with more Frenz/Palmer, as long as you believe in Magik...which you clearly do! bid, walk away, forget, and win is how most people make millions in real estate too!

If I had more real estate, I could flip it for more art!

The Palmer pages seem to be never ending, with so man gems. Musta been a good price for a bid it and forget it!

I suspect if the Storm overlay art were still with it, it might have done better. But with so many coming out of the Palmer estate also featuring panels with Belasco, Storm, and Kitty, I also think it might have floated under the radar a bit.

I bid on Frenz
But I guess my best wasn't good enough
Cause here we are
Back where we were before
Seems auctions never changes
We're back to needing Palmer
Wondering if we bought the page
And head on out as poor
Just once...
Can't we figure out how we keep biddin' wrong
Why we never last for every Tom
What are we doin' Storm?
Just once...
Can't we find a page to finally make it mine
To make the Magik last for more than just one fight
If we could just get to it
Limbo we could break through it
(Hmm hmmmm)
