Description

This unused cover by Roy V. Hunt was intended for a title to be called Selected Letters by H.P. Lovecraft. This title was announced when Arkham House was formed in 1938, was originally planned to be released in the 1940s, but was not released until 1965. This unused artwork is most likely from the 1940s when Roy Hunt was most active, and was meant for the planned 1940s release of the book. The stars motif is reminiscent of Virgil Finlay's cover for The Outsider and Others, the first Lovecraft book published by Arkham House.
