DescriptionYou may not be able to tell from my collection, but my first collecting love was Iron Man. Before I discovered comic art, my goal was to complete a full run of Iron Man and Tales of Suspense comics.Absolutely thrilled to add my first bona fide Iron Man cover to my collection, and it's a doozy! Given his work with and influence on the MCU, I feel Adi has to be a top 5 if not top 3 Iron Man artist. And this cover is from what is undoubtedly Iron Man's most famous modern story. I love how it emulates the MCU movie poster composition, and you couldn't ask for a better image of Iron Man himself! Massive thanks to Alan for this one and for helping me properly start my Iron Man art collection. Published: January 1, 2010 Social/Sharing |

A great example of Adi's work and his Extremis run is particularly memorable as he contributed some fantastic interiors to compliment his covers. I feel that Adi went all out putting in the love and dedication into every panel that really inspired the Iron Man movie.

I loved Extremix, both for Ellis' scripting and Granov's art. It was one of the first stories I bought OA from. Congrats on getting an amazing piece of art from it!

Granov's work in this series is what made for the mech look we got in the MCU. This is the vaunted superhero landing pose!

Now THAT'S a cool Iron Man cover! Love this drawing by Adi Granov for Iron Man: Extremis. Adi Granov is the perfect artist to draw Iron Man because he's so good at using ink washes to create believable metallic textures. Who better to draw a man wearing a metal costume? Love the classic pose Iron Man strikes here. This is the famous MCU landing pose and Adi Granov really nails it. Of course,m Granov is equally good at drawing people who are not in armor, and he really shows that here. I especially like the portrait of Tony Stark here, looking pensive and worried. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!

Extremis was the modern story that made many of us sit up and take notice of Iron Man again, and Granov's vision is a huge reason why. I'm sure this TPB cover drove a whole new wave of folks to the story- wonderful, iconic image, as so many other commenters have said above. Congrats, Rob!
