DescriptionSince Michael Traylor just posted the penciled board by Chris Campana for this cover, I thought I'd post the inked board by Wade Grawbadger.Funny ... When I bought the cover from Essential Sequential, I thought I was buying the inks over pencils (an oversight on my part as it turns out). But because of Michael's post, I now realize -- as is often the case with modern art these days -- that the pencils were done on one board and the inks on another. So ... Michael and I each own part of this fun cover. I loved this issue. It was so much fun to read, with lots of twists and turns and different quirky characters. This particular Kidpool is an adolescent girl from another universe who has all the inexplicable charm and violent tendencies of a Deadpool character; plus she has the hots for Spider-Boy, but in a pre-teen sort of way, which leads to lots of zany hijinks. Did I mention that there are dino-human hybrids and robot dino-babies as well? Yup ... lots of fun. I also own the Humberto Ramos main cover for this issue if you'd like to check it out (and that one is definitely inks over pencils): Ramos Kidpool/Spider-Boy cover Social/Sharing |

Paul I really like how you took a potentially awkward and/or negative situation in finding out your piece didn't have the original pencils unexpectedly and turned that into a positive by co-sharing the other half of the cover with these great inks at the same time. Very cool move and gesture. Great cover on both sides of the art team!

What can I say? I'm a 'glass half full kinda guy' :-)
Thanks for the nice comment and kind words my friend.

For my money I will always like the pencil art over the inked over blue line art. The other side of the coin is that you have the final published version. Still a really nice cover!!!

Do the right thing, match them up, and cut them in half. Then each of you will have a half pencil and half inks cover.

If it wasn't clearly labeled as inks over blueline pencils when you bought it, you should ask for a discount if you intend to keep it. Otherwise as time passes, looking at it will leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Turns out I didn't read the additional information carefully enough. But it's okay...I'm happy with the piece.

Ah, that's too bad. I know it's difficult to even think about it when you're excited about buying art, but we as collectors need to be more careful reading descriptions. We've all been there! At any rate, I'm glad you're still happy to have the finished, published cover. Fun stuff!

Great pick up!!! It's tough to keep track these days of how art is being done, but you got a great one here!!!
