So nice. Your loss of words for this leaves me with a loss for words too!

I can watch Carol read the phone book with those pretty eyelashes and maybe even those Uncle Marcus' writings that I can't stand. Last panel full figure Carol image fits right in a box!

Really exquisite. Her posturing in panel three with the pages to her side is beautifully drawn.

Alright, Chris, since you have nothing to say about this piece, I'll follow Jeff's lead.
Another stunning Carol Day daily! Wright's delicate linework and mastery of light and shadow make each panel feel like a moment frozen in time. The first panel, with Carol’s profile set against the deep black background, is especially striking! Such a refined and elegant composition.
The storytelling here is also classic Carol Day. A touch of intrigue, a glimpse into high society, and Carol’s subtle but telling expressions. That last panel, with her relaxed yet thoughtful posture, really adds to the mood. Another fantastic piece from one of the most stylish and sophisticated comic strips of its era!

You would know better than I, but I don't believe there are many images in the series of Carol reading a letter. Hopefully, not a comment on her education. Anyway, that profile in panel one reminds me of the innocence of a number of strips from the first two storylines, and that profile pose in panel three is so evocative.

I'm guessing it's complicated to depict reading a letter in a comic strip - which may be why we see Carol talking on the phone so frequently. A much easier way to connect characters, locations, advance the story, etc.? But, I do think you're right. Another letter-reading moment that comes to mind is daily 2496 from the Jack Slingsby storyline - Carol reads a letter to Jack, the title character, from his wife (and Carol's former schoolmate), Iris. Carol & Jack are on a romantic getaway trip that's supposed to mark the beginning of them coming out to the rest of the world about their affair/love. Iris' letter reports her pregnancy to her husband...and to someone who she thinks is her friend! Ruh-roh!

Great strip, and great to see folks waxing poetic about Wright's work. It seemed like only yesterday that no one had heard of Carol Day, and they were selling for $30 - $50.

My only quibble with Wright is that he drew too many panels with men in them. This strip avoids that problem nicely!

Exquisite Carol Day strip by David Wright! I don't know where you keep finding these. This one's another treasure. Three gorgeous panels, each from a different POV, each featuring different art techniques. I love the opening panel with the simple black background behind a lovely profile of Carol. And the second panel with the delicate crosshatching across Carol's face. And maybe my favorite, the full-figure of Carol on the couch as she ponders a task she obviously doesn't want to do. Great storytelling, great art, another great pick-up!
