DescriptionI know you all have been missing everyone's favorite bumbling big-footed big-hearted Bizarro Spider-Man .... REK-RAP !!!Originally appearing in Amazing Spider-Man vol 6 #17, he was featured in his first solo story in Amazing Spider-Man vol 6 #36-38. I have already posted most of my pages from #36 and 37, but I still have a smattering of pages to post from those two issues ... and also ... the COMPLETE 14 interiors to ASM #38! Woo hooooo!! So much Rek-Rap goodness to look forward to! And of course Spidey will be right there with him, sharing in the adventure. But before I get into all that, here are some of the character designs for Rek-Rap drawn by the very man who dreamed him up. You can see Ed experimenting with Rek-Rap's name possibilities there on the right. My favorite is where he spelled it "Wreck Wrap." Like ... he wrecks things ... and then wraps up a gift to give to you as an apology. Haha! That tracks. Not sure what "Wood Snarl" refers to. An alternate name? But then you see the eventual backwards spelling of "ParKer." And Ed definitely was all about the "nice big human teeth!" It's all just so much fun! Thanks for looking. And stay tuned. Rek-Rap’s character design is pure Ed McGuinness magic! Bold, exaggerated, and full of personality! It’s great to see Ed's creative process at work here, from the name variations (Wreck Wrap is pretty good!) to the emphasis on those big, human teeth that give him such a wonderfully offbeat charm. You can feel McGuinness experimenting to find the perfect balance of chaos and goofiness that makes Rek-Rap such a fun, new character. Great piece, Paul!

I just realized that "Rek-Rap" is "Parker" spelled backwards. So embarrassing!!
