DescriptionThe Invaders (Captain America, Human Torch, and the Sub-Mariner) take on U-Man and a submarine full of Nazis on this dynamic Kirby cover in the frenetic, highly detailed style of Golden Age "Timely" comics legend Alex Schomburg.Signed on reverso by another comics legend Joe Simon who co-created Captain America with Jack Kirby in 1940. That isn't Johnny Storm, he wasn't born yet. That's the original human torch!

Too freaking cool, Dino. Kirby evoking Schomburg on an early Invaders cover showcasing Timely characters teaming up in a new Merry Marvel way! Incredible cover, congrats!

The King! An absolutely stunning cover! The composition really is Kirby at his best, with so much action packed it. Giacoia's inks are beautiful. So good to have Joe Simon's signature too. Many congrats for this beauty!

I can't stand the interior art to this series, so this Kirby masterpiece certainly makes up for that!

You must've been reading my mind Dino. Was just thinking to myself the other day how I hadn't seen you post in a while. Then lo and behold (just love it when I get to use "lo and behold" in a sentence) not only do you update your gallery today, but you blow us all away with this spectacular Kirby Invaders cover. Now you could probably spend the entire holiday season just staring at this beauty night and day, but I hope you'll also make some time to spend with the family. Anyway, congrats sir!

Back in the day, they called it the Elvis cover with Subby's sideburns. It's actually more of a compliment now with how Kirby's art for OMAC is so revered and he was bringing some of his modern 70's flair to his art. As bombastic of a battle cover as they come!

Did they call this The Elvis cover, Marcus? I guess that explains The Torch bringin' the Hunka, Hunka, Burnin' Guns! I LOVE it!

Back then, Mitch had it in one of his print catalogs and then it came back. That stood out most as Subby was shoved out front. It's just the way people used to make up reasons for why a piece didn't sell the first time.

Invaders is the first series I bought as a kid so these early covers are very sentimental for me. Congrats on a great pick up.

Stunning Invaders cover by Jack Kirby and Frank Giacoia! I love this action-packed scene that takes place on the deck of a surfaced Nazi Submarine. We see Namor battling the U-Man ("Scourge of the Seas") while Toro the Human Torch melts the gun of one sailor with fireballs and Captain America punches his way through another Sailor! In the background the Captain is trying to rally his remaining crew to no avail. The whole scene is very chaotic. much like the covers Alex Shomburg drew diuring WWII. Its a splendid throwback cover!

good seeing this again. Passed around a bunch in the late 90s and always known as the Elvis Subby cover.
