DescriptionBefore I continue on with the Rek-Rap story from Amazing Spider-Man #38, I have some non-Rek-Rap pages to post from issues 36 and 37.ASM #36-38 were primarily a Rek-Rap story, but there were a few interludes featuring various mob bosses, setting up the "Gang War" story that would fully begin in issue #39. Here we have Silvermane's severed head is explaining the world as he sees it. As he reveals his new robot body in the page 7 splash, he exclaims "SOON, THE MAGGIA WILL BE REBORN!" Social/Sharing |

2 great sequential pages with bold and beautiful McGuiness art as usual. that robot body design is super cool looking, Hammerhead has gotta be impressed!

This is is pure comic book spectacle! Silvermane’s severed head monologuing is already a striking visual, but the reveal of his new robot body really takes it to another level. So crazy! McGuinness' bold, exaggerated style is perfect for a moment like this, making Silvermane look both imposing and over the top in the best way. With Hammerhead in the mix, you just know this Gang War interlude is about to escalate in a big way!

Creepy body horror! That's so great with the bushy old man eyebrows breaking the top of the first panel. The full reveal splash with the screaming metal skull face is like terminator in intensity.

Wow! Stunning DPS! I felt chllls just looking at he left hand page with Silvermane's severed head talking to Hammerhead. But then the hairs on the back of my head stood up when I got to the splash page with the new robotic body tanding next to Silvermane's severed head! What a creepy DPS! I love Ed McGuinness's style on this spead. He has a great eye for detail and here he's been able to use that talent to great us. Mark Morales's inks are a perfect fit for McGuinness's pencils. Superb DPS by two modern masters of the medium!
