DescriptionIn the early days of eBay a bunch of these Moldoff commissions were made available and I snagged this oneSheldon "Shelly" Moldoff (1920 – 2012) was best known for his early work on Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and as one of Bob Kane's primary "ghost artists" on Batman. He co-created Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, the second Clayface, Bat-Mite, Bat-Girl, Batwoman, and Ace the Bat-Hound. Social/Sharing |

A very nice Moldoff illustration showcasing golden age Catwoman and The Bat-plane! Robin is there too, lol.
Really enjoy these, was fortunate to have been gifted one by a friend earlier on in my collecting (not this large or nice but still cool).

Just when I delete
I could never comment more
This golden aging world
Pushes me through convention floor
I saw your style
Kane art line could not erase
The Shelly on your face
Selena Kyle
Won't you let me color you?
Moldoff to the knights
Moldoff for the memories
I wish Bat I could whip you something more
Cat nip could be yours

Nice to have the bat plane and Catwoman costume of that era in a dynamic commission by Bob Kane's principal Batman "ghost" artist between 1953 and 1967. Moldoff's commissions that I've seen are uniformly excellent.

Moldoff created so many of these specialty pieces, but they're all so much fun!

This amazing, thrilling and gorgeous Catwoman pin-up is a prime example of the quality of Shelley's pin-up art in his thirty or more years of creativity post-comics, when I think he surpassed everything he did in the decades leading up to his being let go from DC in 1967 for wanting medical and retirement benefits.
