Description

Original artwork for a British boys annual (or several of them) produced sometime between the 1930s and 1950s by Renwick of Otley. These all had titles beginning 'Our Boys...'.

I don't have specific information about the artist or exact place of publication yet. However, I have the manuscript for the story. It concerns an eccentric form tutor at an English boys' school setting up a pretend 'Detective Club' for his pupils, only to find himself the victim of violence at the hands of a real life criminal, who punches him out, ties him up and gags him. As is often the case, the villain - 'Bill Higgins' - is depicted as a flat-cap wearing, unpleasant looking, rough-and-ready working class thug, in contrast with the smart, respectable well-to-do school goers.
