This piece was a gift from Bernie to fellow artist Vaughn Bode.
As confirmed by Vaughn�s son Mark, his father actually wrote �July 1969� after receiving this sketch from Bernie (notice the difference in handwriting when it comes to the letter �y�).
I assume the strip Bernie mentions in the dedication is his collaboration with Bode called �Purple Pictography�.

The T-Rex was used by Bernie in his one-page story titled �Limpstrel� (published in Witzend #7, 1970).
