Great looking follow-up page. I love how Glanzman depicted the how the plane was breaking up in midair. But could the pilot really have survived the impact withthe water, much less with all his faculties intact and seemingly uninjured?

This is based on an actual event during the battle, albeit it was a pilot from the preceding torpedo plane attack. He was the only person from his squadron to survive

Yes, really great depiction of the break up of the plane. Cmon Reed, you can make it, you just have to stretch a bit to unhook that harness!

Thanks, Miki! I like that he had the propeller coming off and spinning away as the plane hits the water.

the sequence continues to keep us on the edge of our seats. this page in particular has great movement of camera perspective from panel to panel as the crash into the water unfolds. come on Lt. Reed you got this!

This is where man vs nature kicks in!  A part of the movie that they often skip and move back to the battle.
