The last time I met Alberto in person, I asked him a favor on behalf of a friend (a sketch on the PKOne volume, where "Evroniani" was reprinted in its glorious black and white) and then sort of highlighted how he had never done a sketch "live" for me... so he said "I can do one for you now, if you want", and I'm not the guy who can refuse a sketch, in particular if it's from one of my favorite artists ^_^

I had to choose a subject, and I was thinking that in 2025, Super Goof would turn 60, so I had the idea to ask Alberto to sketch Goofy's alter ego.

Who is Super Goof? Goofy eats Super Goobers (peanuts) and gains incredible powers (they're similar to Superman's) and assumes the identity of Super Goof, a heroic (albeit still very clumsy) version of himself. His costume consists solely of a red union suit and a blue cape, and his nephew, Gilbert, is the only one who knows about his secret identity.

He first appeared in The Phantom Blot #2 (February 1965) by Del Connell (story) and Paul Murry (art), where he was imagining that he was a superhero. He made his first appearance as an actual superhero in Donald Duck #102 (July 1965), in the story "All's Well that Ends Awful", also by Connell and Murry.

It was amazing to have Alberto sketching for me, in particular a character I thought he never drew (but I was wrong about this, I'll tell you more in another post).
