DescriptionColleen continues to outdo herself. After a long hiatus during which she produced the incredible, hand-painted graphic novelization of Chivalry, and then an extremely dense adaptation of Good Omens, Colleen is finally getting back to commissions.It's a Delight! Perfectly placed circles and the pristine inking of the many mind-boggling details make this a fitting addition to the rest of the series, of which we've now reached the halfway mark. The inspiration for this piece is a 100 year old illustration by Dugald Walker, but Colleen definitely brings her own flair and sensibility to the design. Colleen breaks the piece down nicely in a post on her Patreon, which in general is just full of great history and background, and is highly recommended. We all need a bit of Delight in our lives right about now, but it seems we're just embracing Delirium. Social/Sharing |

Hadn't heard of Walker before this, but certainly fabulous stuff. Collen is a awesome hereself, and my first instiinct was to say "Mucha would be proud!"

It is indeed a fun and lovely stylistic homage to the Walker piece, and we all DO indeed need a little Delight in our lives. After all, groove is in the heart!

Yowza! What a delight this drawing of Delight is! Absolutely gorgeous commission by Colleen Doran! I love the Art Nouveau illustration this is based on. I don't know Dugald Walker's work, but the example you show is stunning! I love how Colleen took elements from Walker's drawing and then added her own take to it. Her drawing of Delight is sweet and enticing. I love the toga she's wearing and the crown of flowers in her hair. The circles of stars and cherry blossoms around her give the drawing a light and airy touch. The whole illustration is breathtaking. Marvelous pick-up, congrats!
