DescriptionHere's another of our PulpFest buys last weekend. By artist Virgil Finlay, this illustrated "The Whistling Corpse" by G.G. Pendarves from the July 1937 issue of Weird Tales. Finlay inscribed it to Stuart Schiff, who later would go on to publish the classic zine "Whispers" and founded Whispers Press. I'm pretty sure Stuart visited Finlay and bought some art from him in the late 1960's or early 1970's, but I need to ask him.Social/Sharing |

Looks so cool how Finlay brings out the ghostly apparition within the flow of the illustration linework. The defiant captain stares down and dares to defy death itself!
