Description

not sure what hair i got up my butt to own a jim lee page but i got it.
back when HUSH was coming out there was an inkwashed page i really wanted that was like $300 but i had no money.
i loved it though.
something must have made me think about it b/c right before covid hit i decided it was time to buy a Jim Lee page.

i have nothing but respect for Scott Williams but there's a rare charm to when Jim inks himself. its like when the singer of your favorite band does a solo song. i saw this one and it isn't ink washed but its Jim inking himself so i went for it.
it was published in the wildstorm 25 year anniversary book that came out in 2017.
fun little book. that studio did a lot of great stuff for comics that i think i took for granted when it was part of image.

Not the world's biggest Jim Lee fan (I like him – who doesn’t? but I am not fanatical) but this is a great page. And generally speaking – although there are some exceptions – the penciller is always their own best inker. Congrats. ($300 for an inkwashed Jim Lee Hush page? It is enough to make a grown man cry.)

yeah, it was one of the flashback ones where bruce sees the golden age Green Lantern.  loved it.  hate that i missed it.

and overall i'm not a fan of the overly cross hatching that was going on in the mid 90's but this page is more about good linework.  the cross hatching on deathblow's face was perfect IMO.

Don’t beat yourself up too much about it. We have all been there. I remember seeing a stack of V for Vendetta pages on a dealer’s table at a con back in the late 80s or early 90s. Can’t remember the prices (thankfully) but they were not expensive and I should have filled my boots. Who would have thought comic art would ever be worth anything?

This Jim Lee page, artwise, reminds me of that story he did for issue 1 of Flinch, which I think he also inked. “Less is more,” as far as the crosshatching goes.

would love a page from that series but i've never come across any.   The kieron dwyer titanic story is one i'm actively searching for!
