Description

These two dailies were drawn on one board, and are from the same story arc of four other dailies I have already posted to this gallery. It is a Scooby-Doo-esque tale about a haunted house and Eve getting kidnapped. Of course, in the end, we find out “old man” Silas Henshaw did it. Turns out he was trying to scare the Jones girls away so he and Mrs. Henshaw could continue living in the house. Less Scooby-Doo-esque than wanting to knock it down for an amusement park.

You know he's hiding something since he calls it a "bucked"! I'm putting money on smack.

Yeah, he did?! I wonder if “bucked” is a secret society codeword for Gwyneth Paltrow's head?

Scooby-Doo is what came to mind as soon as I finished reading the 2nd panel of the first strip! But here's an interesting quandry: How does one (or in this case, two) live in someone else's home for 9 months out of the year? What the hell are the old fogies supposed to do for the other 3 months every year?

I'm under the impression, mostly from Hallmark movies, that EVERYONE spends three months of the year in the Hamptoms. Or sleeping in the yard. You know, options.

Frank Bolle worked on many classic strips and so his work was seen by far more readers than most comic book artists, but his work is still stunningky affordable. Fun piece!
