Description

Wee Pals was an American syndicated comic strip about a diverse group of children, created and produced by Morrie Turner. It was the first comic strip syndicated in the United States to have a cast of diverse ethnicity, dubbed the "Rainbow Gang". The strip ran from 1965 until Morrie’s passing in 2014.

San Diego Comic Con 2023 was a ball with most of my attention devoted to spending time with artist friends and our fine family of CAFers. I had the opportunity to meet Lance Suarez in person for the first time, and he gifted me two Wee Pals strips. I am touched and honored to now curate these two pieces of OA from this historic strip. Cheers Lance, they are in good hands!

Nipper is one of the new generation of characters that was very much used as Turner's own voice in the strip!
