DescriptionWhile at the IX showcase this year, I kept coming back to Aaron's booth. He had so many wonder works of art that I knew I wanted to walk away with one, but which one?!! His dragons (although beautiful) were out of my price range, but he did have some other gorgeous paintings - one in particular which kept tempting me - but again the price was a little out of my range. So, while I was humming and hawing, I started leafing through his bin of OA and I kept coming back to this wonderful piece depicting Kenku. I loved the composition of the piece and was really attracted to the horizontal format of the painting. Plus, it was in my price range! So, I asked him if it had ever been published, and when he told me it was in the 2024 D&D Monster Manual, my jaw hit the floor! I always wanted to own an official Wizards of the Coast Dungeon & Dragons painting! -And here I was holding one in my hands that I could actually afford!! Needless to say, I snagged it, and am still walking on cloud 9 with this purchase! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!Social/Sharing |

It's great painting overall before we even get to study the fantasy storytelling aspects of it. The power glow of the red and green play a part in the color values underneath everything else we see around it. The way Miller frames this vertically at the corner makes Kenku as a bird creature feel more important standing in front trained to see higher up to the skies.

Nice pick up. Art looks great and it being published D&D is so cool. I am a first generation D&D player and have such love for the art in those books.

I started playing AD&D as a kid. Always loved the art in the original Fiend Folio and Dieties & Demigods, plus lots of the modules! And it seems like as time marched on, the art got better and better. Anyhow, I'm tickled to own a tiny piece of D&D history now!
