DescriptionRemember that time that Havok left Polaris at the alter because he was in love with a nurse named Annie who he recently met but he felt like he knew for a long time because Annie’s mutant son would link Annie’s mind with Havok’s mind without telling them because he didn’t want his mom to be lonely, but that didn’t stop Annie from kissing Iceman the night before the wedding because he was feeling bad for himself in part because he still had feeling for Polaris, and then when Havok called off the wedding as Polaris was walking down the aisle she went crazy and created a Magneto helmet for herself and attacked all of the guests, and here she is choking Iceman who is trying to help Havok, Annie and Annie’s son escape before Polaris could kill them? It was just another day in the life of the Uncanny X-Men when Chuck Austen was writing the book.Cool art by Philip Tan. Social/Sharing |

No, I don't remember that time that Havok left Polaris at the alter because he was in love with a nurse named Annie who he recently met but he felt like he knew for a long time because Annie’s mutant son would link Annie’s mind with Havok’s mind without telling them because he didn’t want his mom to be lonely, but that didn’t stop Annie from kissing Iceman the night before the wedding because he was feeling bad for himself in part because he still had feeling for Polaris, and then when Havok called off the wedding as Polaris was walking down the aisle she went crazy and created a Magneto helmet for herself and attacked all of the guests, and here she is choking Iceman who is trying to help Havok, Annie and Annie’s son escape before Polaris could kill them and it was just another day in the life of the Uncanny X-Men when Chuck Austen was writing the book. I was more a reader of Chuck Austen's "Strips". Was it any good?

It depends how you define "good." If you define it as "batfish crazy", then yes.

Man oh man, the X-Men saga could really be a soap opera at times, couldn't it. Great page! Love all the detail, and that middle panel is awesome!

When you date a woman with green hair, you takes your chances...

I do remember I did hook up with a chick with green hair at Woodstock 94 .. she was crazy too but thankfully her daddy issues did not include magnetic powers! Great page btw . I voted for the Chuck Austen run to become a classic run!

And I commend you for going to Woodstock '94 - I'll admit to not going since even at 17 years of age, I thought it would be too much standing.

You love her
Annie loves him
Cause he loves somebody else
You just mutant
And mind link goes
'Til the day through aisle
The thing they call love
It's gonna make you cry
Iceman the blues
The best Tan, the inks
Wedding for sure
(Love stinks)
Love inks
Yeah, yeah
(Love stinks)
Love inks
Yeah, yeah

Nobody at the wedding was spared from Polaris' attack. Not even the wedding singer.

I don't remeber that story at all. What I do remember, though, is that when I read Austen's X run after the fact in one go, I certainly enjoyed it (for being different?) and could not understand what all that negative buzz was about (it was different? ^^).

Odd plot points aside (yeesh!) the art by Tan certainly looks great, Polaris looks like a badass here for sure with the Magneto mask and the intensity. Iceman...not so much. Nice add - Happy Thanksgiving !

My memory isn't what it used to be. Congrats! Helmets are HOT.
