DescriptionPublished interior splash page from Justice League #21 by Gary Frank (pencils & inks). This page showcases the explosive, career-defining confrontation between Shazam and Black Adam, rendered with the cinematic power and anatomical precision that Gary Frank is known for. Frank’s draftsmanship is on full display here—every muscle, lightning arc, and expression contributing to a sense of mythic force and inevitability. Few modern depictions of these two rivals capture their raw intensity as effectively as this image; the page reads like a poster-ready moment designed to define their rivalry for a new generation of readers. This splash was acquired in 2021 directly from Sterlingclass and has remained one of the cornerstone pieces of my collection. Its combination of dynamic composition, storytelling clarity, and pure visual spectacle makes it a standout example of Gary Frank’s work during the New 52 era. Social/Sharing |

Awesome splash of Shazam fighting his arch nemesis Black Adam! Great design for the frame and love the concept for having the lighting bolts from the page extend out onto the border!

Thanks! The frame shop that had it done for me is amazing. Inexpensive and they do top level work.

I like the body language here as it really looks like a messy fight despite the fact that it is happening between two godlike beings? Very realistic.

I thought so too. It was the first OA piece I ever purchased.
