I've been looking for a Chris Sprouse Andromeda piece for ages!! The most common Legionnaire to see him draw is Saturn Girl, so I really lucked out with this one (especially since it was a friend of mine who let me know this one was for sale!). I already had another sketch card by Chris, a Saturn Girl, which I always figured would be a one-off, but now that I have this card (plus two more that you'll see in the coming days), I've made it official and created a gallery room just for Sprouse sketch cards. I'd love to have all the members of his version of the Legion, someday!

It may be just a little sketch card, but I think Sprouse was able to fit most of the hallmarks of Andy's costume into it just fine - the gigantic hair, the star earrings, and the shooting star design on her costume. I love the expression he gave her, which is confident and maybe just a bit amused. She could almost be rolling her eyes at you, which is very on-brand. As with my Saturn Girl card, I find that Sprouse is really good at keeping all the parts of his drawings visually distinct, even when working in black and white. The tiny bit of hatching he uses for shading is used to keep the head and face even more distinct from the rest of the piece, which helps with that visual clarity.

Love the eyes and the chin to have a personality when he could have just went with a conventional beauty look with Sprouse's clean lines.

I have no idea if it was intentional, but I also interpret the chin as jutting out a bit, like she's setting her jaw and giving you attitude! I agree that this one is just full of personality.

This is a lovely Andromedia sketch card piece from Sprouse! I love Chris' work on Tom Strong and his Star Wars covers, have always enjoyed his Legion work from afar as well. The Sprouse Legion sketch card gallery is off to a great start with Andromeda and Saturn Girl!
