Descriptionfigured today was a good day to post this as it it the 5 year anniversary of MF Doom's passing being made public.this was at a party at APE 2005 that Jim Mahfood and friends threw. it may have just been these 3 guys but maybe there were more. my main memories of the night were asking Dave to do a DOOM for me and then seeing Jim and Scott add to it. Awesome. i remember the night starting really slow. almost like everyone was moving underwater. then all of a sudden it was like they sped up and made up for the lost time to catch up. i wasn't on drugs but it kinda felt like maybe i was. i remember a rapper being there but i could be wrong. i didn't even worry about how i was going to get it home. it ended up taking about 2 years to make it back to me but it did. someone drove it to LA and from San Francisco and then i flew to LA to see the melvins one year and decided to just curl this a bit in a suitcase all to itself and just hope for the best. i think it worked out fine! I remember Clowes was there to sign Death Ray for us in 2005 and it was the final form of that pretty big wood interior concourse. Kind of the last big Alternative conventions I've attended. Morse and Mahfood were always generous with their time sketching for everyone.

This was the only ape I got to visit. Other big alternative show I hit a few times was staple in Austin or the Houston zine fest but neither of those compared to what I saw at ape.
