DescriptionI met Jeremy Bastian at Heroes Con in 2016. I was mesmerized by his work then, and continue to be so today. Getting a commission from him became a goal of mine but I never heard tell of him opening up a public commission list. That is until January of 2025 when I just happened to come across a post on his Instagram stating that he was doing commissions. I pounced on the opportunity and now, just over a year later, I have it in my hands.Jeremy's work calls to mind engravings from a previous era. The sheer number of lines in the images he creates is astounding, adding not only depth, but texture, to his art. And the lines are so fine, the details so minute. If someone told me that Jeremy was single handedly keeping the manufacturer of micron pens in business, I'd believe it; he must go through them fairly quickly. But even with the volume of lines, the work feels light and ethereal. To that end, Stingray appears light as a feather, floating in the depths. Muscled but lithe, he descends among the swirling currents. Inks on 7x10 paper. Watch me open this piece here: Art Unboxing - First Stingray of the Year Social/Sharing |

Each piece he does seems to be done with as much love as it is precision, and this piece is so full of love. The swirls on it are perfect. Take any other Stingray pieces down off your wall and only have this one up.

Maybe this one deserves a wall to itself, but taking down all the others is crazy talk haha.

Gorgeous lines as to be expected! Was excited to see how the ol' Stingray turned out and Jeremy did not disappoint! His delicate use of lines create a contrast that is superb. Also interesting to see the smoke effect that he used on my commission can easily double as water. Great stuff.
