Description

Who didn't enjoy reading The NEW MUTANTS comic-books in the early-1980s? That was my first introduction to the MAGIK character. I think I must've also bought the 4-issue MAGIK series, too? As I posted an unfinished drawing of her on my IG that has to have been done around the mid-80s?!
Anyways, I can tell that she's experiencing renewed popularity with fans and collectors.. So, I thought I'd take another crack at drawing her!
Began with a drawing of actress Anya Taylor-Joy (who played MAGIK in the Marvel film) that just wasn't working out.. After transferring the basics to a bristol board, I began adjusting her proportions and coming up with a Setting that seemed appropriate?
I like most of the results. But the process was more organic than I normally like to work. It's just too "busy" for my liking. And would definitely benefit from color to help separate the elements better!
My fault for not coming up with a decent Prelim beforehand..
