(Obtained from Marc Mokken in 2007).
Although not credited as such in the issues, the inks for Legends of the Dark Knight #197 -#199 have been done by Gary Erskine. Artist Chris Weston may have asked Erskine in on the inks, to possibly downscale the galore on detail here and there, in order to ensure the art to still work fully after it having been colored and lettered. Just guessing here obviously. And seeing their prior succesful partnering on titles like The Filth!, Mr. Erskine will have been a safe bet. To me this Dark Knight three-part turned out looking wonderfully at least, especially the Dark Knight himself, being captured time and time again with quite a different aire about him, as if not totally unnafected according to circumstance: the top page panel shows him composing himself amid traffic while time being �of the essence�. At bottom page he�s right back in his element, popping out the old batarang (what did you think?) - add to that the realism of the seemingly somewhat hindering batsuit in looking up. Also the batmobile and architectural depictions aren�t bad I should think. And so I do. [comic board 17,5" x 11,5"]
