DescriptionShang-Chi and Leiko Wu in one of my favorite covers. This is the original pencil and ink art used by Marvel to publish Master of Kung-Fu # 79 in 1979.Sometime after the cover was sold, the owner commissioned Marvel colorist Steve Oliffe to add watercolors directly onto the original black and white art. Colorized or not, I love the artwork. I read this long running, ground breaking comic religiously as a kid so this cover has sentimental value. Thanks to Scott G, another kung-fu fan who also provided this scan. I am always looking for select MOKF covers by any artist. Let me know what you have. Cheers! N. Social/Sharing |

Zeck was always a great MOKF artist, but the combination with Gene Day was pure magic. Gene left us too soon, but his legacy of great art will live forever. Congratulations on a beautiful cover!

Wow! Nice Zeck piece, ironic I was just discussing movies fans would love to see made on the DC General Topics board. MOKF came up, I too really loved this series by Starlin & Gulacy! With all those beautiful action packed covers! Thanks for sharing your treasure with all of us! And remember Everyone was Kung Fu Fighting! Those dudes were fast as lighting!

Nelson, a stellar cover, indeed! MOKF will be on the big screen soon - he will not be denied. He is a very powerful and popular character and should not be on the sidelines too much longer! By the way, this cover looks amazing in color, especially when it was hand colored by a master like Steve Oliff. However, it would also be a great candidate for Robert Dennis to do his magic and remove the color, if you so wish. Robert has done this before with superb results. Congrats again on a great cover!
