Description

Insigne designed in the winter of 1943 for Marine Base Defense Aircraft Group 41,El Toro,CA. - The patch with Thumper riding the bomb was worn 1944-1945. During that time MAG-41 held the distinction of having the largest squadron in Marine aviation history.They were the first aviation unit to receive and train with the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver which was responsible for the destruction of more Japanese targets than any other aircraft. - Published in DISNEY DONS DOGTAGS by Walton Rawls, Abbeville Press,1992, p88.
