Karate Kid vs. Rom by John Dell

I've seen John's inks in books for many years and have always been a fan. But when I met him at the 2010 NOLA Comic-Con I got to flip through a folder of art he had there and saw a few drawings he had done all by himself. Those drawings were very good, especially the one that featured Rom, Howard the Duck and Man-Thing. So of course I had to hit him up for a KK vs. Rom piece. I mentioned to John that Val could fight Rom in space since his flight ring would allow him to survive there and John put in that sweet-looking swath of stars. Awesome.

Rom probably wouldn't be expecting a weaponless martial artist to engage him in the cold depths of space, and that would give Val a slight edge at first, hopefully giving him time to take Rom's Neutralizer out of play. After that, it's all about Val avoiding Rom's blows and damaging the armor.

If you like this piece then go buy some books featuring John's work in either physical or digital format.

I'm a HUGE fan of John Dell's art. As both inker AND penciller his art is astonishing, and this piece is no exception. Great idea and great execution - congrats !
