Description

Seen here are the pencils for X-Factor #44 p3. It shows an elderly Cyclops and his daughter Ruby giving Madrox a hard time about his trouble coping with life in the future and his recent crying jag. In all fairness to Madrox though, his new found life in the future had nothing to do with his current depression. He had other problems, and being sucked into the future didn't really help. But on the plus side, at least Ruby had his clothes cleaned.

One of the things I like best about this page is that top panel. It looks......real. De Landro is very good at getting the characters to "act", and that panel really showcases it. It looks right. Natural. Plus, I find future cyborg Cyclops and his daughter funny, and this is probably my favorite image of them. They have a cool dynamic together and with Madrox, and they both have an awesome look. Very cool character designs. Peter David did a good job of making it seem like Madrox had wandered into their title instead of the other way round. Like they had their own title somewhere that was already in progress, and that Madrox had to catch up quick or be left behind. Very cool, and De Landro's visuals suited it perfectly. Honestly, I'd read the "Mr. Clops" and Ruby title. I'd like to hear what happened to Emma in this future, and what Madrox did to Cyclops exactly that could result in him being half machine now.
