DescriptionSuperb sketch/study of Conan by Tomas Giorello on part of a thick paper/card (image area approximately 7.5" x 8"). This was originally used in Dark Horse's Conan #50 as well as the Hand of Nergal TPB, before Tomas finished it, adding more detail.THIS is what I picture when I think of "Conan!" Besides the expression (the furrowed brow, the glare, the snarl), Tom just captures him SO well, whatever the age of Conan (from the thief to the King who "wears his crown on a troubled brow."). And look at how he handles that lighting/shadow! Tom is THE Conan Master. Obviously, my photo does nothing to capture this, mainly because only Tom's original art can capture the true beauty of this piece. Great piece from a great artist and person. Social/Sharing |
