Large Size, 12 X 18 Inch Jack Kirby Thor #139 Cover Recreation Inked By Angel Gabriele
Image uses ink, brush & pen on quality bristol board, and was recreated in pencil from a Xerox of the Jack Kirby art, then inked and by Angel. The logo, corner box and cover copy are paste ups .The original published cover was inked by Vinnie Colletta, but, this art stands on it's own as a beautiful action illustration inked by Angel. ...Here are Thor and Sif, side by side in this recreation of the classic cover from the mid-1960s........ This is a recreation from a Kirby xerox of original, inked with superior linework, the digital image does NOT do this original justice. Illustration is suitable for framing! ( photo is shot at slight up angle to avoid glare.)
At the request of longtime Kirby family friend David Schwartz, and to avoid questionable sales by less than reputable dealers, all Angel's Jack Kirby recreation work states in archival ink, on the back, that they are a recreation by Angel, and are signed on the front after Kirby's name. These originals are done as inking sample and from Angel's portfolio.
