Description

The pencil portion of this drawing was completed way back in October 2005. (Thanks, Jeff!) Arvell Jones was the original penciller on Marvel Two in One # 15, a team up book that had the ever-lovin' Thing and Morbius the Living Vampire facing off against a baddie called the Living Eraser. (If he'd been the "Dead" Eraser, it wouldn't have been nearly as good a story..!)

Jump ahead a few years and I was able to connect with inker/letterer Bruce Patterson (Camelot 3000, Green Lantern, Justice League, Micronauts, Wonder Woman) via his eBay auctions. I asked Bruce to change the alien girl at the top of the page to more closely match her look in the original story. Blame me, not Bruce, for that adjustment.

Arvell Jones -- another artist who should have become a much bigger name in the industry than he is. Nice work by Patterson over Jones's pencils.

Wow! Bruce's inks really show the power that was in the pencils! A great job by both artists, and fine choice for a commission.

Nice job by Arvell, he really should be in the midst of the industry today. I don't understand why some artists like Arvell, Keith Pollard and Ron Wilson are ignored by the big two. Cool inks by Bruce also.
