DescriptionWhen I picked up this page (I believe it was the summer of 1993), I was already a die hard fan of Neil Gaiman. He regularly made his way to comic shops in the Chicagoland area and of course to Chicago Comicon where he wowed crowds at midnight readings.Over the years, I had many things signed by Neil. He casually doodled in a few of my Sandman hardcovers. Presenting this page for him to sign was the first I'd seen him hesitate. He asked a very polite "may I" as he admired the page, obviously wanting to leave his mark. If you look closely, you'll see the ankh in panel 2 is done in silver just like his signature. That's his handiwork. What a great memory! And what can I say about Chris Bachalo? I own enough of his art it should be obvious how much I appreciate his work. I always knew this page would be the prize, though. Death HCOL was a magical collaboration between a favorite author and artist on a limited series highlighting a cherished character. I'm lucky to have snagged this page all those years ago. Social/Sharing |

Bachalo/Buckingham were an amazing team. Mark's inks had a ton of personality over Chris work. .

A page with a perky Death (and, bonus, Mad Hettie) by Chris Bachalo & Mark Buckingham is a great addition to any collection.
