Failed or Never Delivered Commisions
I debated a long time about whether or not I should create this gallery - for some reason it didn't feel right to call out artists that I've either had bad experiences with or simply never delivered. I guess that I was hopeful some of them would follow through on their commitments. Please know that I've only decided these were 'failed' after repeated attempts to contact the artist to deliver what I paid for and received no response. The compromise I came up with is to require you to be a registered member of CAF to view the gallery. I guess I'll consider the money I paid to them as my support of the staving artists of the world (although some of these guys are well known and not starving). I can tell you this, there are some really good artists out there that never seem to break through... the reason why is that they are flakes and have no understanding that in order to be a working artist - you also have to deliver. I've gotten commissions by some of the best in the biz and they deliver almost immediately or set clear expectations of when they can deliver - I have zero problem with a commission taking a long time if that is clearly spelled out in the beginning. These guys are working artist for a reason. The guys that sit around and wonder why they never get hired are the ones that most likely never deliver upon their commitments or have excuse after excuse. Harsh but true.
