To all interested parties - the sketch did arrive. No note and stinking of cigarettes smoke but it's here... and admittedly very nice. A few weeks airing out should alleviate the stench. Undecided if I will frame it with the rest of my art... I'm not sure if I'd like to be reminded of this experience every time I look at it.
I am quite certain it will never arrive. Seth has stopped responding to my emails after admiting that he 'forgot' to send the piece. He said he would send it in early February - almost two months later and it hasn't arrived. Shameful. I'm out of the commission business. I'll buy pieces at shows and off eBay - I'm done dealing with flakes and losers.

Totally agree - can't stand the no response to emails. Inexcusable. We are all human, just explain the story and provide a clear timeline.
No worries, I've had many many more positive experiences than negative ones. I know others have had even worse over a hell of a lot more money. I'm just tired of being ripped off, I wish others would do the same as I would like to know which artist have questionable practices. Everyone should feel free to share their experiences in this thread. If you don't want to name names - that's fine but I'm no longer going to feel bad about other people's incompetence. No bashing - just the facts.
