Who recalls the year that Bruce Hamilton took up a thousand sq. foot curtained off area at the old downtown San Diego Convention center? I think that it was around 1985 but don't remember for sure. What I do remember about Bruce's room was that it was full of beautiful Disney animation cels, concepts drawings and paintings, and production drawings. Walking around that room was an eye opening experience to the beauty of Disney pencil animation drawings. The most beautiful pieces that I saw there were multi-colored pencil animation drawings of Monstro from Pinocchio and Chernabog from Fantasia, but they were also the most expensive. Being the newbie that I still am with Disney production pencils, I couldn't bring myself to spring for any of the Monstros or Chernabogs. I did settle in on a sweet Snow White, and that started me on another side street of collecting original art. I now have about a half dozen production pencils.
