Description

For me this piece is the foundation of my comic art collection - this was first major piece I bought in my collection, it was for charity for a cause that I believe in (I am a pediatric critical care physician so many of my patients are like Sam), and of a character that I love - Superboy. The Superboy character is such a unique character that's constantly changing in the DC universe! I was happy to meet Jeph Loeb, Erica Durance and the great Michael Turner before he was lost too soon to cancer himself. He was sketching this during the auction and remember feeling this surge of want when I saw it - I am pretty introverted and bidding out into the open isn't really my thing - but I felt so impassioned to fight for it at that moment, so for that reason, this piece also brought me out of my shell a bit - and spurred my love for collecting comic art.
