Magnificent cover. I have looked at a lot of Gold Key covers, and that water sure does look familiar in a lot of covers attributed to George Wilson covers. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Another masterpiece by Prezio.

Thanks David. Yes, these paintings have been put up somewhere for a LONG time as they are just magnificent. I thank my lucky stars every day that Mr. Wilson is still largely unknown. Hey David: People I think are catching on as to what is a George Wilson and what is not. Quality just bears itself out. It is a nice piece but but it just not George Wilson. I watched the auction and frankly was not surprised. I have noticed a downward trend on these gold keys and an upward trend on the real Wilsons, as the market finally realizes what it has(or in some cases does not have).

I still shoot myself for missing that damn Turok 58. I could never get a definitive answer as to where HE got them from. Did you?

Wonderful art. Just wonderful! Yes, it does look like Wilson to me too. And I agree, GCD is not right on quite a few of their attributions to Wilson for SFR. So nice to see this piece. Thank you for sharing! Becatinni says all the SFR's are Wilsons as well. Don't know why he said this.

Love Vic Fair's work. This is wonderful. I am working my way through the book on british posters now. My God the book is huge and so many wonderful paintings and posters. No more original art posters. It's all digital and photo crap now. Crying shame. Well done, Terry. If you get a chance check out my pictures of faded Wilsons. What is your solution to fixing these faded masterpieces?

Hello Roy: How could we let such a master escape us without knowing more about him and having a chance to salute him on his wonderful artwork? I am glad you got a chance to do the only article that I have ever found on him. Thank you so much for it. Any chance there is more to that interview that didn't get published, i.e., tape recording etc.? I know all the Wilson fans would love to see/hear it. We are not even sure which art is his. I have becattini's list but I have to question some of them as being Wilson's. Are you in contact with his wife? I thought I read somewhere that some of Mr. Wilson's paintings had been taken from her and she was trying to get them back but I never could confirm this with anyone. Got to agree with Terry Doyle. Leaving that George Wilson art out to light will cause the blues and greens to disappear! Real subtle. You won't notice it for years, then bam! Unfortunately I take mine out and look at some for about a week then back they go to the dark storage. Sad but true. Check out Mystery Comics Digest on the internet, number 1, that was sold a couple of years ago by Alexander Gallery(?) along with a Voyage to Bottom Sea on heritage; both lost a lot of color over time, and possibly even the Magnus 1 that sold earlier this year for over $50,000.00; looked like some fade was present. Still beautiful but.... ps if you get too worried about the possibility of fading issues I am sure Terry or I can help you out and take it off your hands! Ha.Ha. pss those are some gorgeous pieces of art! I love that George Wilson especially! One of my favorites.

Famous Monsters 95 is in the vein, to me, of FM 92(Frogs) and the last of the great FM covers. This is a really fantastic cover. It is something that still stands out in my mind after seeing it the first time many years ago. Wonderful. Who is the artist?

Magnificient poster art! I love this movie. Just got the lobby cards set. Art is beautiful. Only wish Turner had colorized it. You ought to see The Day the Earth Stood Still in color! Blows you away. This one would have been just as good. As would The Deadly Mantis, by the way.

How did we let Wilson slip away with only a single interview? We should all be ashamed. He was a master. It is an honor just to see this original piece in all its glory. These pieces seem to be vastly undervalued to me based on what Heritage auctions shows. This baby is priceless in my opinion.

Wilson at his best. I count a total of 166 known painted goldkey/dell painted covers. So these babies are rare and getting rarer, as I don't see any turning up in any old coffee cans hidden under a tree. Wilson's use of color was second to none; why these boys did not sign their work is beyond me?

I literally cried when I missed this at I believe a Heritage auction. It was my favorite cover to my favorite story in mystery comics digest. I loved all the vivid colors in the story. This cover is as good as it gets. Mesmerizing!!

Man am I jealous. That is one of my favorite covers. Uruguay to Phillipines, huh? I sure wish we know more about George Wilson. Has to be one of the most underappreciated and unspoken heroes in comic art history!! Right up there with Gollub. Two masters.

It doesn't get any better than that! I sure wish I could find a sourcebook showing the proper credit for the artist(Gollub, Wilson,etc.) for each of the dell/goldkey painted covers. Anybody out there seen such a thing? Beautifuuul Gollub by the way. No one had his flair.
