What If...? (1989) #15 Page 4 showing Galactus and Nova (Frankie Raye) by Greg Capullo and Sam de la Rosa Owner: Rune Rasmussen Comment posted on 3/29/2015
Mario B. said:
bombastic page... ![]() Thank you - this page was not love at first sight, but after seeing it several times I liked it more and more. I then checked several dealers and CAF, and I found out that I had a really hard time finding a Galactus piece I liked better. So maybe an acquired taste? - Now it is indeed one of my favorite pieces. I'm a great fan of Galactus and when thinking about it, on several levels this piece captures him so incredibly well! Also Capullo really drew Galactus like I remember him - I'm too young for Kirby ;-) |

Fantastic Four #556 Cover by Bryan Hitch Owner: Rune Rasmussen Comment posted on 2/2/2015 Also my thanks to Rob Stolzer for considering this cover the best published cover in the Lowry 2014 competition. Rob wrote to the Comicart-L Newsgroup, January 26th, and voted: "1. Rune Rasmussen - Bryan Hitch - FF #556. I'm honestly not all that familiar with Hitch's work, but was struck by the piece as it's such an incredibly powerful image. Incredible drawing to boot. 2. Hans Kosenkranius - Mike Mignola - Conqueror Worm #1 - Beautifully textured and wonderful high contrast richness. 3. Jim Halperin - Adventure #73 - I'm a sucker for Kirby/Simon, and this is a wonderful image. 4. Felix Lu - Eric Powell - Goon #9 - Terrific painting and figure movement. The Rockwell vibe is wonderful. 5. Brian Peck - Nova #12 - This one tugs at the nostalgia heart-strings. I recall that comic book with great fondness, and it's simply a terrific image." |

Indestructible Hulk #6 Iron Man Hulkbuster Variant Cover by Dale Keown Owner: Rune Rasmussen Comment posted on 9/15/2014
Jason Versaggi said:
Fantastic cover! Dale still delivers one of the best Hulks. And it resides in a collection of someone with one of the coolest names on CAF. Are you a Viking? ![]() Thank you - and yes, of course ;-) Rune is my real first name ("Rune" is an old Viking name, it means "secret"). I am from Denmark and actually live close to one of the Viking Ring Fortresses (at least what's left of it, more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_ring_fortress ). I grew up not as a Viking ;-) but reading Danish translations of Marvel and DC books. Back then Hulk was among my favorite superheroes. Thus to me there is a lot of "Rosebud" (to quote Citizen Kane) in this piece. - And the details make it easy to appreciate this piece even as an adult. |

Indestructible Hulk #6 Iron Man Hulkbuster Variant Cover by Dale Keown Owner: Rune Rasmussen Comment posted on 9/15/2014

Keown is my all-time favorite Hulk artist- I grew up with the Peter David/ Dale Keown run, AND Iron Man is my favorite character, so I'm SUPER jealous! Whats more, Keown tweaked the Hulkbuster some- adding teet! It's very "Punisher" looking here! I think this might have been produced for a story that went unpublished but was too great not to use- and it's an incredible cover- congrats on owning such a beauty! Put in into a nice metallic green frame and hang it up- it'll look amazing on display! ![]() Thanks again :-) I have been inspired by Joe Shaffer when framing such pieces - you can see my framed FF #556 cover here (it's quite big, 13" x 19.5", so the passepartout was reduced compared to my 10" x 15" pieces): http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj611/runesr2/Wastebasket/060820143938_zps1e9bd02a.jpg~original It's behind anti-UV glass (=museum glass), all materials acid free and the frame is piano black hardwood (could have used metal, but wood did look nice and did not cost much more than metal). And it is not exposed to direct sunlight and placed in a room with close to constant temperature and low humidity ;-) Such a hassle displaying art! :-) |

Wow ! Amazing! This is the cover that you are going to give to me, [/jedimindtrick] ![]() Thank you - and yes, of course - IF you are wearing Hulkbuster armor! ;-) I have seen many Hulk covers, Mike Deodato has made some fantastic pieces, still this Keown cover is close to being my favorite Hulk cover (they did not draw Hulk that good and in such detail when I was a kid, so I greatly appreciate the modern pieces). |

Arak, Son of Thunder #32 (1984) Owner: Steve Kro Comment posted on 6/17/2014 Just wondering if you could help me understand this situation. A few weeks ago (at ComicLink) this cover was for sale, and I actually bought it. But then the seller could not deliver it. So I guess the cover was set up at Comiclink by an error and still is in your possession? Thanks, Rune |

Fantastic Four #556 Cover by Bryan Hitch Owner: Rune Rasmussen Comment posted on 6/9/2014 Thank you, this cover is special to me, maybe just the scene or Ben's facial expression, but it really touched me when I saw it the first time. Good to know that I am not the only one appreciating this cover, although I fear for the final wife test, when I've got it framed... ;-) |
