Rasmussen, Rune

My gallery primarily contains published superhero pieces, mostly covers. All have been carefully selected for my enjoyment of the art. Furthermore I collect art, not artists, thus if I love the art, then I do not care much who made it. Trying to keep a focus, my guidelines are (for now):

1) Published covers only, unless a published interior page is of extraordinary quality or significance.
2) One piece per (super-)hero.

Furthermore I try to restrict myself to dynamic pieces illustrating different emotions and feelings, like: Grief or despair (Fantastic Four #556 cover), courage (Green Lantern #16 cover), defeat (Firestorm #12 cover), surprise (Marc Spector: Moon Knight #23 cover), aggression (Indestructible Hulk #6 Variant cover), enthusiasm and optimism (DC Presents #69 cover), fear (Prime #15 cover), abhorrence (Daredevil #327 page 2), insanity or abnormal emotions (Nightwing #28 Steampunk cover), indifference and disappointment/shame (What If...? #15 pg 4), anger (Batman #670 Variant cover), defensiveness for Ka-Zar (Savage Tales Annual #1 cover), dread (Unexpected #210 cover), disgust (The Punisher #95 cover), fascination (Man From Atlantis #1 Pg. 2), ferocity (She-Hulk #33 - or panic regarding the pilots ;-), foreboding anticipation (Nighthawk #3 cover), distress (Jonah Hex #73 cover), annoyance (Garfield Strip 8-8-1980), fright (King Conan: Wolves Beyond The Border #4 cover), pain (Astonishing X-Men #35 cover), almightiness (Tales of the Unexpected featuring the Spectre #7), feelings of haste and urgency (Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #14), love, desire, lust and hunger (The Wedding of Dracula #1) and the feeling of being forcefully abused (for Eddie Brock in Venom #154).

Such guidelines secure a certain degree of variation between pieces and slightly protect me from compulsive hoarding... :-)

Currently all my pieces are framed behind Museum Glass (92+ % anti-UV), never exposed to direct sunlight and displayed in a close to constant 68 F (20 C) temperature and 40 % humidity environment.

I do believe Vincent van Gogh was right when stating: "A painting without a frame is like a soul without a body." This is so true for original comic art too! And remember, don't judge a cover by its book ;-)
