Yep, awesome character! A man doomed to destroy everyone and everything he loves, and worst, to slowly forget his love in the first place. And I love the depth of the stormy sky on this piece. You really feel the howling emptiness...

The original is less than 2" high. Most art has to be shrunk down to look good, but this looks friken amazing blown up 5 times its size. That says something!

There are no bad Dr. Carp pages. It is hands down my favorite Hellboy story from the last 5 years. And this one.... Man, it is sweet. I just love the electricity crackling everywhere!! Honestly, how else are you going to take down a guy with a stone hand who is immune to fire? GIANT ELECTRIC PROBES!!!!! Yeah baby!

Very cool use of light and shadow!! I really like the "camera" angle too! You feel like you are both floating and about to smash into the ground, perfect ambiguity for an astronaut scene.

Great page! BWS is a master at detail that focuses your eye rather than distracts you. I really like how he reverses the diagonal flow of the rain to frame that interior shot.

i really like the sence of a "big picture" that this page conveys. between the castle, forces massing in the woods, and him standing at the parapet, you really get the sence that something big is coming together. and that seagull is classic!

It will be mine! someday... Very great page. I love that this page is from a hellboy story that never materialized. So it is a glimpse into a future that never was and a literal ghost page... half real but half missing.... On a completely different note, i love that the monsters start as amorphous lumps and as they get closer and closer to hellboy, they gain eyes and arms and claws. it really suggests the gloom that is shroading these figures in a dense sea fog.
