Incredible content aside, when you see pages like this, they really exemplify the term of a comic artist being a draftsperson.  The attention to details that even the viewer can overlook, is superb.  This was the best era for comic art.  Much of the art today looks like an open pen was stuck on a convulsing gerbil.

And that "I hate the fact I look like a bald accountant" pent-up anger.

The cross-hatching detail on all the pages and the richly shadowed compositions are just astounding.  Seeing this, you would not have to wonder that Alcala would go on to be a legend!

Cool art and very intriguing story.  I recall an Electric Dreams story on Amazon Prime that told a similar tale as a remake of Philip K. Dick’s "Autofac" story he did in 1955.  I think that will be Amazon Warehouses long after we are all vaporized.

Congratulations CAB!  While I have questioned the price paid on some of my own pieces, it bothers me to no end the ones I never fought harder for.  Hold your head high on such a great addition and don't fret.  A box of breakfast cereal may cost more than this page, in the coming years.

Really love this one, Bruce.  It looks like a photograph.  The glow on the ice is so surreal!  Great story about Don signing them.  I had the same situation with art from Ron Miller.  Both fantastic artists and icons of space art!
