Awesome page! I liked the Ghost Rider sequence. Not only was it a nice pastiche of the traditional Western movie bandit attack, it also showed how committed Logan is to his passivist lifestyle. How fervently he believes it now, with the same zeal as he used to pursue violence. A berserker passivism, as it were. :- ) Artistically, I'm very impressed with the way McNiven and Vines handled the chain in motion. Beautiful work. It looks so fluid.

I don't know if it was intended or an accident, but I love how in the bottom panel on the left, the sign reading "Lubricant" is semi-obscured so that it simply says "icant". Given the discussion that it going on in these panels, I thought it was an excellent visual metaphor for Logan's unwillingness to fight. The sign gives us Logan's entire argument. He can't. Of course, it was obscured in the published work, which is a shame. Awesome page!

One of the most iconic spreads in the entire series! I was really impressed with the character design of the Banners. You really get a sense of their personalities, before they ever speak. Awesome work by McNiven, Vines and Millar! I also love the delicate lines used to show the exhaust kicking up the dirt and blowing it around. It would have been so much easier to just do generic cloud shapes, or to leave it to the colorist to handle, but the lines used really add to the page. Congrats!

Can't believe no one has commented on this one yet, as it's one of my favorites. This page has an awesome Western feel to it. I love the sense of waiting and anticipation. It's like "High Noon". The Banners aren't shown yet, but you can feel the dread of their impending arrival. Also dig the desert wind blowing through the scene and the shadow of the Banner's Fantasticar falling over the family. Stunning page!

I like the panel second from the bottom. Excellent way to show the size difference between the characters, by having the Banners tower over Logan. Really cool way to deemphasize Logan's strength and power, and make him seem smaller.

Such a bold and instantly recognizable image. I actually prefer it to many of the first print covers used in the series. It perfectly articulates the tone and feel of the story, without going too far. This page also features some of the most impressive crosshatching work I've ever seen. I don't know how long that took Vines to do, but his hard work really paid off! Huge congrats!

Very sad page. I was genuinely surprised to see Donovan standing there, hat in hand. That panel is amazing artistically. You really don't need any dialog to articulate what happened, and none was used in the comic. It's all right there on Donovan's face. Awesome work by McNiven and Vines getting their characters to act!

That bottom panel hurts every time I look at it. :- ) I love the damage to the FF symbol in the background, and the complicated ink shading on all the fabrics in this page. Nice view of the Trophy Room! I've always kind of wondered what was in those big boxes Red Skull has lining the room. They appear to be open at the top, so they're display cases of some kind. Something evil and macabre, no doubt. The big question posed by this sequence though: who would marry Red Skull?

Poor Logan. He can't catch a break. I like the second panel the most on this one. By arranging the panel so that it from a viewpoint behind Donovan's legs, the perspective makes Logan appear smaller. Lost. Very cool and subtle visual trick. Also, hats off to the colorists for this page. I really liked how the background color got a little darker with each panel, as Logan had the growing realization of what had happened. Awesome!

The Trophy Room pages are like a "Where's Waldo" for comic fans. You can also spot Nightcrawler's tail, Daredevil's uniform and club, Dr. Strange's cloak, Silver Surfer's board, what appears to be an X-men communicator, Thor's helmet, Iron Man's armor and Cyclop's visor. Red Skull really does have the coolest collection of stuff! I love the way McNiven and Vines have Logan crashing through the display case. It really looks natural. Very cool!

I'm very fond of the #66 pages, especially those which focus on the Logans. This is one of the best. It really sets the stage for all of the family life pages which come after, and Logan's emotional journey for the storyline. We see his family for the first time, and first learn of his money troubles. These two things will be the driving force behind everything that comes after in the series, so in that sense, this is one of the most important pages in the run. From an artistic standpoint, I love the bottom left panel of Logan, half in shadow. Stunning work by McNiven and Vines. Very cool! Congrats!

Stunning page! I actually like that top right panel the most of the fight panels. It has an amazing level of motion to it. Like it's not a static image, Wolverine is just moving very slowly as we watch. :- ) The bottom panel is also amazing. I love the dangerous look in his eyes, and the way they seem to glow because they are only partially inked in. It really makes them pop. Congrats!

That bottom panel is killer! Another one of those Western inspired images that really appeals to me. Personally, I'm hoping he tracks down Mysterio and gets some vengeance. Preferably, a vengeance that involves lots of flashbacks to the Vegas fight between the heroes and the villains. Is it too early to call dibs on those pages? DIbs! :- ) I'm also wondering what Namor is up to. The Marvel anti-heroes seem to have fared pretty well on the day it all went down. Wolverine, Hawkeye, White Queen, Black Bolt, Hulk, Venom are/were still alive. Only seems right that Marvel's first anti-hero should still be around as well, or at the very least have had a good final battle. Above all, ANY sequel HAS to reunite Millar and McNiven. Their work has been so amazing with this story, that I can't imagine anyone else replacing them.

Another great action page! Banner has one of my all time favorite reasons for super-villainy. He was bored. No plans to take over the world, since he's in power already. No revenge scheme or political motivation. Nope. He just simply wanted to smash someone cool to alleviate his growing boredom (I guess taking up golf was out of the question.) Great writing, as it provides us the perfect counterpoint to Logan in the story, as all Logan wants to do is forget the fighting and settle down into the kind of monotony that Banner is now seeking to escape. Add in the fact that the page shows a fistfight between an old guy and Wolverine, and McNiven’s amazing ability to capture the movement of liquids, and you have yourself a truly special page! Congrats!

One of my personal favorites of the issue! That top panel is awesome, and you can never go wrong with an old guy beating the heck out of Logan. :- ) Personally, I found Banner to be a more interesting and sinister character then when he became the Hulk a few pages later. There's just something unnatural and creepy about him. I mean, besides the super strength and getting it on with his cousin, which obviously classified him as abnormal to begin with. He just seemed off. If you can out crazy Red Skull, you're REALLY crazy. ;- ) Excellent villian, excellent page!
