Issue 76 is approaching fast ! If the tradition continues, Green Arrow will be back to team up with GL. It will be interesting for an Ivan Reis GL/GA cover + a Neal Adams variant maybe ? What are you going to sell then ??

Very very nice splash page. Pin ups from Series 3 are difficult to find. GL pin ups of this quality by Joe Staton are particularly rare. You have got a real bargain for this page, I will definitely mobilize all my lunch monies, holiday reserves, etc. to fight you on this one if it was featuring Hal. Congratulations !

Thanks Art, I truly respect your opinion and your comments are welcome with open arms. It's one of my best action splash pages. I think people are saving for the end page though,

Sadly the grail splash ended with a private sale. You would have more competition for this page if news of sale of the end page was made public earlier. Lucky guy !

Thanks for the compliment officer. So it has gone overseas previously !? Wow, you have been using your detective expertise to track down all great Green Lantern artwork ?! Let me check. No I think you got it wrong this time. The one for sale on eBay 2 years ago for $350 was only a recreation by Mark McKenna and the auction ended on Dec 6, 2009 without any bids. There are really not that much great Green Lantern artwork still floating around. How can we let you, the Galactus, the devourer of all great Green Lantern artwork, know the remaining channels of securing grail pages ! There will then be nothing left for the rest of us !!! You have already beaten me on 2 masterpieces. The dealer said you buy first without bothering to ask about the price and pay without any bargaining ! I wonder if you would, on the other hand, be willing to let some pieces in your collection go ? Have a nice weekend and happy collecting.

It was lucky that you “hate” McKone, otherwise this masterpiece would have fallen into your collection long ago ! Thanks for not bidding.

Very nice Splash Mike. I've seen some of Mahnke's art on Ebay and seems very expensive.

I would have put in a bid should the group be led by Hal. Still, $150 for this piece is a super bargain! Congratulations. As a collector, I hope this recession would continue so that we can snap up more great artwork at fire sale prices.

Come on officer, you have already got most of the great pieces in sector 2814. Your CAF Green Lantern listings account for 18.6% (647/3,480) of all GL listings. You have so many that you even can’t remember what you have. For instance, in your CAF interview, you mentioned that you want a nice Gil Kane page, but you already have GL2 224 page 16 ! Please leave some art for us. Thanks.

I do agree that we should have some non-costume pages so that we can see the different faces of our heroes. I am doing some counting again: Aquaman, Batman, Blue Beatle, Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Hawk & Dove, Hawkman, JLA, Legionnaires, Metamorpho, Nightwing, Red Tornado, Spectre, Supergirl, Superman, Titans, Wonder Woman, … You are definitely a loyal DC fan. So which hero is your favorite ??

It appears that your prayers have been partly answered - Bizarro may appear in Issue 6! After winning them you will still need Darkseid, Mxyzptlk, Prankster, Toy Man & General Zod. 5 out of 10 will be quite an achievement. And the last one should be easy with all these New Krypton issues. Apparently no CAF member has got all 10 yet! Keep up the good work.

The art of this issue is splendid as usual ! The only thing I have to complain about this story is the transformation of the parasite. It is too simple, just one bite of a contaminated donut ! Over the years the head of the Parasite looks more and more like that of a worm. Now he is fat and no longer muscular. I look forward to round 2 of Superman vs Parasite. So you too are building up a Superman rogues’ gallery by Gary. Good luck with the Superman vs Metallo page coming up next.

I am getting uncomfortable with the trend of computerization in the industry. First they have computer coloring and there were no more 3M art and color guides. Then they get rid of the inker as well and we are left with pencil art. So in a few years time the artist will draw directly into the computer with a mouse?

Why "negotiable" when you have just purchased them a few days ago ? These pages will defintely appreciate sharply in the days to come (and at the rate Uncle Sam is printing money out of thin air !) I think DC will continue to use their old trick: have a 5 star artist kick off/relaunch an aging series, then use 2 or 3 star artists to continue thereafter. I hope Gary can stick around and continue where Curt Swan had left off. See you in the next round of auctions.

Nowadays you can't get a page like that for $175 any more.
