2000AD Prog 404 page 18 (1985). Owner: FBS Stroun Comment posted on 8/23/2021

Very eye opening to see his work before my introduction to him in Preacher. It is more formal and traditional illustration that looks right in line with others at the time. You can see some of the storytelling ideas he had here that he took with him. The slow chase and stalking panels is what he used for timing. The lower 3 panels I've seen as a layout on his Gen13 annual. ![]() Dillon was UK's answer to Liefeld or Madureira in that he started working for Marvel UK when he was barely 16 !!!!!!! So prolific, so fast, some great 2000ad runs, including one of my favorite Alan Moore's comedic output, Abelard Snazz, as good as D.R. & Quinch or the Bojeffries Saga. And then, some great Warrior magazine pages. And then, if that wasn't enough, he co-founded Deadline magazine. And only then did he start working for DC (SKREEMER, if I remember correctly). Passed away too young, but amazing wide-ranging, multi-faceted legacy. |

2000AD #50 Inferno [Part 15], page 31 Owner: Paul Roach Comment posted on 8/23/2021 Belardinelli might not have been the greatest "draftsman" of that era, but his baroque, dark, obsessive imaginative power makes him an essential contributor to 2000ad's legacy. Over time, one of my favorite artists working for UK comics in the late70s/early 80s. More so than other much more celebrated authors. Gorgeous page. . |

I truly believe Joe's 70's work is underrated. People don't give it enough of a chance for it to be appreciated. Jist fantastic stuff ![]() Dear Sir, Your grandfather was a GIANT. His mid 70s work is indeed underated. Prez, but also, my favorite Brother Power the Geek iINMHO, one of the most interesting DC titles of that era. Humbled by your comment. Sincerely, Fabrice |

This is how it left Clowes' drawing board and he deemed it perfect at that time. If you were going to sell, by all means. Even to a buyer, are they nostalgic for the Comics Journal? Or do they love his work as an artist regardless? ![]() Whille the "nostalgia" factor re buying this issue of TCJ, important, not as important as Dan Clowes being an amazing graphic designer, and him leaving an "enpty space" in his composition for the magazine's title. Will probably "complete" the composition at some point in the future. Just got the piece framed, not ready to tinker with it quite yet. Thank you for your most thoughtfull feedback. |

Great early Keown color work! Congrats and thanks for sharing! ![]() Late 80s / early 90s, had stopped reading US mainstream comics, besides Alan Moore's Eclipse / DC post Warrior stuff, but was still looking at exploitation / small press things, felt at the times that O'Barr, Vigil, were "cooler" that Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Liked the corniness of Dragonforce, reminded me of Willingham's Elementals, sillily "sexy". Found this page on Ebay, as "close" to Wrightson as it is to Byrne. Not very well drawn but that red fleshy fold uper left corner kind of makes the page interestingly dirty. Liked the fact that it is airbrushed. Only found out about Keown's Hulk & Pitt many years after the fact, about 10 years ago. |

The black inks of Errata's hair shout ![]() Indeed. Old framimg job, close to 20 years ago +, very affected, with a black mount, having it reframed accoding to more minimal, generic contemporary tastes: White mount, natural wood boxe frame, full bleed, etc. The black inks of Errata's hair will shoutsh out even more so. |

I know nothing about what's going on here but with Jodorowsky as writer I definitely need to know more! ![]() The page is from the second volume of La Saga d'Alendor, which Jodorowsky worked on for Métal Hurlant in the mid ‘80s, in parallel of The Incal. Personally, it my favorite comic book series of his besides the original run of The Incal. Unfortunately, he and Cadelo didn’t see eye to eye and the story was never finished. Cadelo was probably his most baroque graphic collaborator. He went on to work for A Suivre and later became known for surrealist erotic comics. |

Another fantastic gem in your collection. von Eeden's rendering and layouts on Thriller were incredibly innovative and his work overall is, sadly, underappreciated.
