Very cool strip to get Spidey AND DD!  But what the heck is up with Spider-Man?  Did he stick his rump to the wall?  Probably not meant to be funny, but that position really made me laugh.

I love that you seem to love/appreciate/enjoy the cartoon characters.  Super heroes have been a huge source of enjoyment for me.  But I have the very same level of love for the Warner Brothers characters, Hanna-Barbera characters, Walter Lanz, Bob Clampet, Jay Ward, Warren, Archie, and SO SO SO many others.

Great piece.  And I am glad you posted it on this site for the enjoyment of all.  Thank you

Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira are very possibly my favourite art team in recent years. Barrows has a very strong command of the basic fundamentals of drawing and Ferreira just seems to be locked in on Barrows' style and understanding how to best approach & embellish it. I've often said that many pencillers are their own best inkers, but having seen an example of Barrows's pure pencils and inks on a cover, I can say without any trepidation that this is not the case with him. This is very likely due to the fact that Barrows rarely inks and therefore understandably hasn't developed that muscle the way Ferreira has, as Ferreira is strictly an inker and focuses all of his time on that aspect of the artistic process. This is a wonderful looking splash and really doesn't matter if you've read the story or not. Art for art's sake!

An amazing piece here.  I love it.

And I I agree with Ruben's opinion about the Eddy/Eber team.  I absolutely love the work they put out and for my money put out the best visual story telling of any team in a long while.  Texture and depth of image along with dynamic story telling just seem to flow from their fingers.  I just can't seem to get enough.

Double Yabba Dabba Doo! to conclude the story!  The playfulness of these stories hold a special charm for people who grew up in an era when comics were available in more places.  You can sample and pick up a self contained story for fun.

If it is possible to mathematically agree more than 100%, then I do.  I find myself less and less interested in the storytelling of comics today where I have to purchase 6 to 12 issues to get a complete story.  My son and I have talked about that SO many times.  Not to mention the rarity of a fun story...although I do kow it IS possible (e.g. Looney Tunes) .  And in my case, the need to drive 20 minutes to get to a store that even has them for purchase.  Although the changes are not all bad, comics are very different today than they were when I was young.

I really have to hand it to you for coming up with such a clever and unique commission series.  I love cross-over books like BRAVE and BOLD from DC and all the others.  You really get a triple-kudo for not only continuing the B&B covers but ALSO tying it to an homage of other cross-over covers from the past AND connecting it to a multi-issue theme of golden age heros vs a common villain.  Wow...great concept.

If I were wearing a hat right now, I would take it off to you.

Good point Marcus.  Or you could use orange to make the bowl be terracotta orange and the table and rocks be stone gray.  Plus a pink table cloth to match his ears.  Are you more of a "use all 64 colors in one picture" colorist or a minimalist and just use 3 or 4?

I know.  It makes me wonder WHY.  At some point, did the animators have to ask questions about what was happening?  Or did someone get a new box of colored pencils and decide it would be fun.

And what about panel 2 with Superboy showing some Spidey-sense?!?!?  I thought that was pretty cool.

Interesting how this only used one out of nine here as a heavy story edit to keep the story fast paced.

Agreed.  I wondered how they would map the panel-to-seconds pacing since the cartoons are pretty consistent.  There had to have been some early decisions so the money wasn't spent on unused animation.  I also was fascinated by the lack of detail while still providing ENOUGH detail.  For example, Pa Kent and Clark Kent are pretty much generic images.  So did the person doing it not know what they looked like or not care?
