One of my favorite FF covers of all time!  And Buckler knocked this one out of the park on the recreation.  Couldn't ask for better figures of Thing, Hulk, and Torch.  So cool!  Absolutely love this one.  If only Sinnott had inked the interiors over "guest artist" Perez instead of Colletta this entire issue would have been perfection (not that it wasn't already for this nine year old comic fan).

I can't tell you how many times I went back to view this artwork on the dealer website just because it was such a great image. Why do you always feel remorse when you see that sort of artwork in its new home?   I'm not a reader of the source material but the image gives me Flaming Carrot vibes with a sense of innocent sexiness with just enough bizarre in the background to make it stand out even more and put it over the top.  Congrats on a great pick up!

What a beautiful historic page!  Wonderful to know it is still here with us.  That last panel really stands out having been referenced in Zee's recap intro in later appearances.  Awesome!!!

What an amazing job evoking our silver age Diana with sterling time period details from her costume and curves, to the loving attention to her hair style and sandals.  Spectacular!

An absolute iconic JSA image by a multi-generational master.  It would be hard to imagine a better JSA  pinup (or depiction of any kind for that matter).  I think for Bronze age fans when we think of the JSA this is exactly what comes to mind.  Certainly worthy of being the highlight of any OA collection.  Murphy Anderson is SOOOO good!  Congrats!

Congrats on pulling the trigger and acquiring this wondering page.  I followed it with desire on the seller's website for a decade watching its price rise.  From my first year of collecting and a very memorable issue for me - love all the Krypto stories from this time period.

Enjoy seeing this wonderful momento into the warm personality of one of the greatest talents to add to the Superman legend along with historical documentation of the rights to ownership of artist's original artwork.

This one is pure dynamite!  I keep going back to view it.

Love so many of these faux covers you've had done for our beloved series but this one really could be that "lost" cover!    Nailed Mayer's art style to a T.  Check.  Nailed the tone of of the writing with the great gag.  Check.  Nailed the lettering - something most wouldn't notice but authenticates the feel of the cover.  Check.  

Stick a fork in it Alex - the cover of Sugar and Spike #100 now exists.

My second issue of Adventure Comics!  Is it any wonder that I fell in love with Aparo artwork with splashes like this one along with all his B&B work?!?

Crisp stunning heroic imagery by Barreto depecting the "red sky" event leading into the historic transformative event in DC history.  Worth the price of admission for the Starfire image alone.

What a fantastic Metal Men cover especially with Platinum so predominant and by the great Jim Aparo.  I definitely missed this one on the newstands and really can't say I recall seeing it as a back issue at the comic store I managed in the 80's either... but it does make me want to dig up a copy.  So you'll let the cover go for a cool mill, eh?

What an awesome silver age Gil Kane Green Lantern page!!!  Hal in his ring-slinging glory... love all the action!  Any Hal Jordan fan would absolutely love to have a page this nice to represent! I'm green with envy over this one.

What an outstanding Dillin JLA page!  Amazing over-sized middle panel with large images of Jay and Kara with the dark limbo background, lots of Mordru, one of the most best Legion baddies of all-time, and from the annual JLA/JSA team-up with the Legion - one of the most memorable of their annual events.  Love this page!

My first issue of Wonder Woman and a page I remember vividly. Although I came in at the end of it all and this was the last and final of Diana's multi-issue arc of 12 trials to regain her confidence and rejoin the Justice League I was thrilled at the end of the story that she'd be featured in the Justice League comic each month.

A favorite cover of mine and by this time I was totally hooked on comics and thought it was cool that I now knew enough to totally recognize whose purple-clothed white-fisted arm that was knocking Supes for a loop.

Well blow me down ... that's a great piece of artwork!

For thos whose comic mythos was set during the late silver age-early bronze age period Gwen Stacy was the love of Peter Parker's life ... and we loved her too.  This illustration captures her beauty as we forever see her.  Just love this!  And I have to check out Yardin's other work on CAF now.

Always a treat to see any work by Oksner and especially when it features a pretty girl which was his specialty.  Back at our comic store in the 80's we turned the GGA phrase to also apply to "Good Gorilla Art" - this splash fulfills both defintions.

Recreations the way they ought to be!  Outstanding work by Layton and a fantastic choice of a dynamic action-packed Iron Man cover that deserves attention.

Hard to take your eyes off the eye-catching image of Black Cat, but when you manage to do so,  you are further dazzled by the intricate details and thought that went into the surrounding image.  Top notch and just gorgeous!

It's a good thing for you that you didn't do the description write-up for the recent auction for this splash as I would have bid higher!  A great page enhanced by your context and affection.  Congrats!

What a fantastic page and from a story I remember reading from my first year collecting ... but not from Adventure Comics, rather from its reprint in DC Super-Stars #3 in 1976. It was all new (and exciting) to me then. I so remembered this page seeing it here.  How cool to own the original page to this silver age classic tale of the adult Legion!  And what a shocker when the armored rescuers removed their helmets and were revealed!!!
