The portraits of panel two are indeed eye-catching, but they are made more eye-catching because of the adventurous and potentially dangerous boating landscape of the third panel.  Such a beautiful contrast of inner/micro and outer/macro worlds.

You would know better than I, but I don't believe there are many images in the series of Carol reading a letter.  Hopefully, not a comment on her education.  Anyway, that profile in panel one reminds me of the innocence of a number of strips from the first two storylines, and that profile pose in panel three is so evocative.

Hard to get past that teacup.  While Roses and Lilies really has a photorealism to it and is probsbly the finer painting, I love the relaxed style of this one.
